UMCCTS offers a full-time, 10-week Summer Undergraduate Clinical Research Internship Program in collaboration with the UMass campuses around the Commonwealth.
Students considering a health-focused career who are interested in working in the field of clinical and translational research upon graduation should apply for this unique opportunity at the UMass Chan Medical School Campus in Worcester, MA. Undergraduate interns gain exposure to an array of potential career opportunities and acquire holistic understanding of the field of clinical research. Through participation in mentored, hands-on experiential learning as part of a clinical research team and engaging in weekly panel discussions, interns receive rigorous training. Project experiences vary by research team assignment, typically including diverse activities such as learning about research protocols and related disease states, participating in team meetings, shadowing staff in various research positions, recruiting and consenting study participants, educating patients and their family members, collecting and inputting data, and engaging in the regulatory process. DETAILS
- Full Time mentored experience as a member of a clinical research team
- 10 Weeks: May 26 - July 31, 2026
- Onsite at UMass Chan Medical School Campus in Worcester or Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington
- Up to 12 Student Positions anticipated
- Compensation provided
WHO SHOULD APPLY
The program is open to UMass undergraduate students (rising juniors, seniors or recent graduates as of Summer 2026) with a GPA of 3.0 or above and a strong desire to explore the field of health research. We request that all applicants attend one of our information sessions to learn more about this exciting opportunity.
