Local and Global Community Engagement and Outreach for Health – Anchor community embeddedness and trust in coalescing existing and new collaborative efforts which are: a) community-driven, community-partnered, and community-led; b) address the social determinants of health (SDOH) and the drivers of persistent health inequities; c) engage learners, faculty, and staff; d) nurture workforce development and capacity building, and e) advance community-engaged research, educational, and service opportunities both locally and globally.

UMass Chan Medical School's Global Health Activity:

As part of our efforts to strengthen collaboration across UMass institutions, we conducted a brief survey to better understand the scope of global health activities within our community. This initiative is the first step toward building a comprehensive database that highlights the work taking place across UMass Memorial, the School of Medicine (SOM), the Graduate School of Nursing (GSN), and the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBS).

The survey responses provide valuable insights into the diverse projects and programs underway, and they will guide our next steps as we develop a central platform to showcase this important work. These results will also inform future initiatives, including educator meetings, seminar series, symposia, and other global health activities designed to foster collaboration and impact worldwide.
