What is this course?

The PCBH Course, Part 1, prepares mental health clinicians to work on primary care teams. We have updated our legacy PCBH Course, which was first launched in 2007, to reflect the best evidence and current realities of primary care practice.

Our updated course recognizes the skills of specialty mental health clinicians and helps translate prior knowledge and experience into the fast-paced, evidence-based, generalist culture of primary care. PCBH includes a range of topics from orientation to integrated behavioral health models, working on a primary care team with physicians and nurses, and addressing cultural influences on health care.

Our participants go on to become productive and valued team members in primary care, helping their practices embrace integration and provide better, more efficient patient care. Many alumni have become integration leaders and change-makers throughout the US.

Who is this course designed for?

Psychologists, clinical social workers, counselors, and marriage and family therapists seeking to prepare themselves for practice in primary care will benefit from this course.  Students, as well as recent graduates and newly licensed clinicians, will benefit from this course. Clinicians with years, or even decades of experience, who are new to working in primary care will find this course helpful.
