Anesthesiology Interests: Critical Care, Chronic Pain
Outside Interests: I love to run, hike, ride bikes, ski, pretty much anything outdoors is up my alley. I’ve made music for years and recently got into photography. Most important of all, I love spending time with my wife and daughter. We enjoy cooking together, walking our two Australian Shepherds, and going out for breakfast when we can. I’m a sucker for a good waffle with real maple syrup. Why UMMS: Choosing a residency comes down to a lot of different factors, but for me, the most important one was how a program made me feel, and UMass just felt like the right place. During my interview, I was struck by the depth of clinical training and the strong sense of mentorship, collaboration, and support for resident well-being. It was clear this was a place where I could grow. Worcester also seemed like a great fit for my family, with access to nature, big-city amenities close by, and good schools for our daughter. It felt like somewhere we could not just live, but really build a life. -

The warmth and enthusiasm of the faculty and residents made a lasting impression on me, and I genuinely enjoyed every conversation during the interview day. What stood out even more was the responsiveness and kindness of the program coordinators—they were incredibly helpful and made the entire process feel smooth and welcoming. That level of support, combined with the program’s strong clinical training and commitment to resident growth, made it clear that UMass Chan was the right place for me. Discovering the significant Ghanaian population in Worcester was just the icing on the cake. Nothing beats working from home. -
