Teacher of the Year Award 2025

The UMass Radiology Department Teacher of the Year Award was started in 1986 by the residents in the department who wanted to honor Dr. Umali for her teaching. Each year the radiology residents select - by vote - the Teacher of the Year. This year the residents chose to honor Byron Chen, MD as Teacher of the Year. Dr. Chen is associate AM division chief of the emergency radiology division.

Selected by the radiology residents, this award honors the most outstanding teacher among the department faculty. Dr. Chen once again receives this meaningful recognition for his dedicated teaching and mentorship, the 3rd time he has won this prestigious award.
