Continuing Education Classes

At UMass Chan Medical School, the Tan Chingfen Graduate School of Nursing stands apart as the only graduate nursing school in Massachusetts affiliated with an academic health sciences center. Located in Worcester, the school is committed to advancing nursing education through continuing education programs that blend clinical expertise, cutting-edge research, and the flexibility of online and in-person learning. These programs are designed to fit the needs of working nurses who want to grow their knowledge, strengthen their practice, and take the next step in their careers.

Our Continuing Education (CE) courses offer non-matriculated students a valuable opportunity to enhance their professional and academic development without enrolling in a full degree program. With options available both on campus and online, these courses provide practical, career-focused learning that can be applied immediately in the workplace. Non-matriculated students may take individual courses to expand their skills, meet continuing education requirements, or explore new areas of interest.

Please note that CE students are not enrolled in a degree program and may only audit a course with prior approval.

At this time, the following courses for contact hours are not offered:

Introduction to Perioperative Principles
CNOR Prep
RNFA Program
Pharmacology Update in Women's Health Courses - Menopause & Osteoporosis
