Faculty Periodic Multi-Year Review Process
Overview
In accordance with the Academic Personnel Policy, Section 4.14, Tenured faculty are to undergo a Periodic Multi-Year Review (PMYR) every seven years. This details the process for completing the PMYR.
PMYR Process
- The Office of Faculty Affairs notifies the faculty member when their Periodic Multi-Year Review (PMYR) is about to start.
- The candidate submits the following to the DoM Tenure Team:
- CV - recently updated
- PMYR statement that includes the following:
- summary of activities during the previous seven years
- long term goals (5–7 years) for scholarship, education, and service
- obstacles/challenges that may prevent the accomplishment of future goals
- resources required such as professional development and/or mentoring for new initiatives or changes in direction
- The department chair meets with the faculty member to discuss the PMYR statement.
- The mini-tenure dossier is submitted to the Office of Faculty Affairs.
- The mini-tenure dossier is reviewed and approved by the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs & the Dean/Provost for the TH Chan School of Medicine.
