Welcome to UMass NICU in Worcester. I have been a Neonatologist for 7 years and at UMass Chan Medical School for 4 years now. The best part of my job as the APD is getting to know, teach, and learn from our amazing fellows. Each year, it is an absolute honor working with each fellow and welcoming you as you transition into your role and become a part of the UMass family. In our NICU, you will see a full range of neonatal conditions and we serve a wonderfully diverse community. Given the close-knit nature of our neonatology department, we excel at monitoring individual fellows needs and research interests and help to tailor your fellowship training experience. Our teams promote graduated independance moving up on your years of training. Our faculty work hard to teach medicine that is evidence-based, patient-centered, and delivered with care and safety in mind. Our curriculum is designed to cover all board relevant topics in the 3 years. We have thoughtful and of varying modalities for all learners: case conferences, high-fidelity simulation, online/virtual topics, community-based learning, and fellow-as-teacher role(for the residents), to name a few. I feel confident and proud that our fellows graduate with the knowledge and skills they need to hit the ground running as the a new attending phases of their careers begin. Each faculty have special neonatal interests. I have an interest in neonatal nutrition and co-chair our nutrition committee. Thank you for checking out our program. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions about our program.
