Educational Conferences
We offer many interdisciplinary conferences each Friday morning that include the following:
TUESDAY evenings:
- Bone Club once a month, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
- Optional meeting co-coordinated by the Divisions of Endocrinology at UMass Chan Medical School and Boston University to discuss cases and topics related to osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease
- Boston Interhospital Rounds – once a month, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
- Rotating case presentations by fellows and faculty from various New England locations
WEDNESDAY mornings:
- Board review questions and review of guidelines, 9:30 - 11:00 a.m., once a week
- Interstitial lung disease conference once a month, Noon - 1:00 p.m.
THURSDAY 12-1 PM:
- Medicine Grand Rounds: weekly various topics
- The Division of Rheumatology usually sponsors two sessions per academic year
FRIDAY mornings:
8:00 - 9:00 a.m., Lectures with a rotation of:
- Grand Rounds with renowned internal and external (national and international) speakers
- Radiology conference once a month
- Journal club once a month
- Pathology (dermatology, muscle, and renal) conferences
- Summer Core Lecture series (July and August) – Introduction to core topics
9:00 - 10:00 a.m., Patient management with presentations of cases from both the inpatient and outpatient settings by the fellows, where there are dilemmas relating to diagnosis and/or management

The Lupus Symposium - Yearly in May
1 day conference in Worcester, MA, which brings together leading experts, researchers, trainees, providers, and patients to discuss the latest advancements in lupus research and treatment.
UPenn Fellows Virtual Course - Yearly in July
First-year fellows attend this intensive primer on Rheumatology and the Rheumatology fellowship
ACR State of the Art Conference - Yearly in April
First-year fellows attend this yearly clinically orientated update in Rheumatology
ACR Convergence - Yearly in October or November
Second-year fellows attend the annual American College of Rheumatology meeting
New England Rheumatism Society
Dinner meetings at MIT Endicott House are usually in the Spring and Fall with national or international speakers.
