Tianxiong’s paper "Evolution of KoRV-A transcriptional silencing in wild koalas" was published in Cell and selected as the cover story of the volume. Congratulations, Tianxiong!

On the cover: The Koala Retrovirus-A (KoRV-A) retrovirus is linked to immunodeficiency
and cancer predisposition in wild koalas. KoRV-A is transmitted between animals but
also infects germ cells and passes from parent to offspring with the inherited genome.
In this issue of <em>Cell</em>, <a href="https://www.cell.com/cell/fulltext/S0092-8674(25)00191-6" target="_blank">Yu et al.</a> capture evolution of piRNA-guided KoRV-A transcriptional silencing as the virus transitions
from a pathogen to a stable endogenous retrovirus. The cover image features an adult
koala with a joey. Image resource: Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.
