Counting Carbohydrates With Diabetes

People living with type 1 and type 2 diabetes must monitor the carbohydrates in their meals.  Carb counting helps keep blood glucose levels within the target range, which may prevent or delay additional health complications associated with diabetes.  Healthy carbohydrates, such as whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, can provide both energy and nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, and fiber.
