    Dr. Cynthia Furhmann, Associate Professor and iCAP Co-Lead, has received the 2026 Distinguished Service Award from the National Postdoctoral Association for her impactful leadership and innovation in advancing career and professional development support for postdoctoral scholars. Over her prolific career in higher education, Dr. Fuhrmann has led major initiatives like the Professional Development Hub and myIDP, influencing training practices and career planning for countless scientists. Her work has helped shape national conversations around structured career development and support systems for researchers at all levels. Congratulations, Cynthia!

    On Wednesday, September 18, the Office of Health Equity celebrated the kickoff of the fourth cohort of its Investigator Career Advancement Program (iCAP) with a welcoming event for nine new faculty members. Ten iCAP alumni from previous cohorts also attended the event to share their advice and encouragement with the new faculty.

    This diverse cohort, drawn from various departments, is part of the university’s ongoing commitment to support early-career, research-focused faculty through iCAP.
