Vizgen MERFISH

One of the early adopters of Vizgen's MERFISH technology, the SCOPE has operated a Vizgen Alpha MERFISH microscope since March 2021.  The MERSCOPE was added in 2022. The MERSCOPE Ultra joined the Merfish fleet in 2024. At SCOPE, we proudly have all 3 generations of Vizgen instruments.

The Alpha is used for RNA quality verification and protocol development. 

The MERSCOPE can image up to 1000 RNA targets, 3 sequential FISH targets, and 6 antibodies over a 1.25 cm^2 area. 

The MERSCOPE Ultra can image up to 1000 RNA targets, 3 sequential FISH targets, and 6 antibodies over a 3 cm^2 area. The Ultra features 1.8x faster runs times and advanced data compression, making the MERFISH data much easier to handle. 

In winter 2027, the MERSCOPE Ultra is getting the 3D MERFISH upgrade! 

MERFISH is full service through the SCOPE.  As a Certified Service Provider, we are fully trained to help with experiment design, library construction, histology, sample preparation, data collection and analysis.
