Fatima Tleiss, PhD
Programs: Post-Doctoral Fellows
Fatima received a Master's degree in Infectious Diseases and Applied Bioinformatics from the Doctoral School of Sciences and Technologies in Lebanon in 2019. She decided to leave her native country to pursue her PhD in France. She earned her PhD in Molecular and Cellular Interactions from the University of Côte d'Azur in December 2023, where she studied the mechanisms of host-microbe interactions in both normal and pathological conditions. Additionally, she was interested in the metabolic and behavioral consequences of an excess of enteroendocrine cells. She joined the lab as a postdoctoral researcher in January 2025 and is focusing on studying immunity in the reproductive tract, particularly the role of the transporter SlC46 in response to infection. She hopes her research will provide an excellent model for studying defenses against sexually transmitted bacterial diseases (STDs). In her free time, she loves history and visiting museums. She also enjoys playing chess, painting, and cooking.
