| Elective Description: The student will participate in the care of patients with a wide variety of pediatric pulmonary disorders including cystic fibrosis, asthma, chronic lung disease of prematurity, immuno-compromised lung disease, and pediatric sleep medicine. The rotation will include both inpatient and outpatient experiences along with exposure to bronchoscopy. It will provide the student a basic understanding of pulmonary function testing. The student is expected to gain a pathophysiologic understanding of the disease process as well as its social implications. |
