How are Medical Students involved in the Asylum Clinic

As Leadership and/or Scribing on cases!

If you are interested in becoming a scribe, there are two simple steps to get involved:

1. Read the Guidelines for scribing here: Scribing Best Practices 10/2025

2. Attend the information session detailing operations of the clinic & fill out the short quiz to confirm you understand how to be a medical student scribe (IF YOU CANNOT ATTEND: email - umassmedasylumclinic@umasschan.edu - we will give you steps on how to proceed)

You will be a scribe with UHRAP once you complete the above steps, and we add you to our mailing list!

NOTE: this process is completely different than prior years! We removed the PHR training module requirement as they were not specific for scribes, and were originally meant for evaluators. Due to our current scribing process, we believe acculmulating a body of available and eager scribes is more valuable than requiring an 8 hour training module, that would pose as a barrier.
