Requirements for Application
Who is eligible to apply?
Applicants must:
- Have completed one of the following residency programs by July 1: an ACGME-accredited residency, a Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)-accredited residency, or a College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)-accredited residency.
- Be able to obtain a full medical license in the state of Massachusetts to enable independent medical practice in the UMass Memorial Health System.
Applicants of all specialties are considered.
How to apply:
Interested candidates should apply through the AAMC’s Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS). ERAS opens for applications on 7/1/26, and our fellowship will start to receive applications by mid-July, 2026.
The application deadline is October 30, 2026, at midnight.
Your application should include a completed ERAS application with a photograph, updated curriculum vitae, medical school transcript, MSPE, personal statement, USMLE or COMLEX transcript, and 3 letters of reference, at least one of which should be from your residency program director. One of the letters of reference should discuss your interest in clinical informatics. If an interview is offered, you will receive a message from "Thalamus" (no-reply@thalamusgme.com). Please do not apply if you do not meet the eligibility criteria listed above.
The Clinical Informatics Fellowship will participate in the AMIA Clinical Informatics Fellowship Match and not the NRMP. All Applicants must be a current AMIA member.
